Product Description

What is Included?

  • Salus Smart Home Thermostat
  • Salus Smart Home Thermostatic Radiator Valve

How does it work?

The VS20 thermostat may be used for controlling a heating zone with up to 6 TRV’s per thermostat. It can also be connected to both door / window sensors and smart plugs. All units are wirelessly connected and it is possible to set up management for both time and temperature. You can set up Min / Max temperatures for each room and the option to turn off the display on the thermostat to save battery life.

The TRV10RFM is a battery-powered, mini-size thermostatic radiator valve (TRV) controller using ZigBee wireless communication. Simply replace the existing, passive head on the standard radiator valve with the TRV10RFM. You can connect up to 6 TRV’s to one VS20 thermostat used with the Universal Gateway.

Smartphone App and Thermostat/Valve

What are the advantages?

The VS20 is battery operated and connects wirelessly to the heating system and other Smart Home devices meaning that installation is quick, simple and mess free.

Up to 6 radiators can be controlled by a single VS20 and as the thermostat is remote from the radiator itself, it ensures that the required room temperature is maintained and not the temperature closest to the radiator maximising efficiency. The VS20 can be configured and controlled either locally through the intuitive touch panel LCD or remotely through the app from a smartphone, tablet or PC. This means that the user can control and adjust their heating, or even just a single room or radiator, from anywhere ensuring maximum comfort and efficiency.

As part of the SALUS Smart Home range, specific user defined rules can be setup to program and control the VS20 in conjunction with actions from other devices. These could include automatically adjusting the thermostat if windows or doors are opened or turning on the lights and heating 10 minutes before the user arrives home.

How do you Switch?

Updating from traditional manual TRVs to Smart Radiator Control, is in most cases, as simple as unscrewing the old control head and replacing with the Smart unit making the system perfect for retrofit as well as new installs. Smart Radiator Controls are battery operated and the interface to the Thermostat and to a Smart Home Gateway is wireless meaning that no additional wiring runs are required. Installing the Smart Radiator Control is a simple process through the SALUS Smart Home app which allows the user to quickly setup, configure and program the system.

For users with a reasonable level of DIY skills the whole process is a straightforward operation that can be undertaken themselves. For those less confident a qualified installer can complete the upgrade in just a few minutes.

Thermostatic Valve Removal/Fitting instructions.

Please Note: In some older systems, it may also be advisable to also replace the radiator valve to ensure continued efficient operation

Delivery:

We want you to receive your item(s) with speed and efficiency, and if your delivery address is in the UK, it completely free of charge.

Delivery times:

When browsing products on our website, to the right of the image and above the add to basket button you will see three bold headers - Delivery, Availability and Delivery Time. Depending on the product you have selected, will depend on the information that is shown next to these headers. “Delivery” will always show as Free, although this may change when your delivery address is entered at the checkout (Mainland UK is Free). Availability is dependent on the manufacturers stock levels and the information shown can vary. Some items may say along the lines of “Out of stock - Order now to avoid disappointment”, it may also give a date of when the item is expected to be back in stock, or it may advise you to call our customer services to find out. “Delivery Time” will show the delivery times for that product, for example - “Next Working Day” or “5 - 7 Working Days”. Once you have added the item(s) to your shopping basket, you will also see the relevant delivery times above the products in your basket.

All of our delivery times are subject to availability. If a product is out of stock and there is a known restocking date, then this information is displayed. Occasionally an item may not have a restocking date yet, in this instance if you call us on 0203 319 6401 our team will work to find out an estimated restocking date for you. If you wish to reserve an out of stock item, you can do so by adding the item to basket and checking out in the normal way. We will then pre-allocate the incoming item(s) and dispatch them to you as soon as we have them.

The various delivery times are as follows:

Next Working Day:

If you have made your purchase before 1pm and "Next Working Day" is the allocated delivery time then you will receive your item on the next working day. If you have ordered your item on a Friday before 1pm, it will arrive on the Monday. If your order is placed on a Saturday or Sunday and “Next working day” is the specified delivery time, it will be processed first thing Monday morning for delivery to you on Tuesday. In addition, if you make a purchase on a bank holiday your item should arrive within two days of the bank holiday.

If "(1 Hour Delivery Slot)" is written next to "Next Working Day", this means that you will be given an hour-long window that your item should arrive within. This slot is decided by the courier and passed on to you via SMS (Text Message). If for any reason your allocated time slot does not suit you, you will have the option to request a more suitable time at this stage.

Choosing the right accessories for your new Radiator or Towel Rail

Valves Explained

The type of valves that you need will depend on the configuration of your pipework.

If the towel rail / radiator has connections at the bottom:

You will need either angled or straight valves. Angled if your pipes are coming from the wall as this will provide a 90 degree angle up into the bottom of the towel rail / radiator, straight if your pipes are coming from the floor and just need to go straight up into the bottom of the towel rail / radiator.

If the towel rail / radiator has connections at the sides:

You will need either angled or corner valves, angled if your pipes are coming from the floor as this will provide a 90 degree angle into the side of the radiator. Corner Valves if your pipes are coming from the wall this will also give a 90 degree angle into the side of the radiator however is the neatest solution with this type of configuration.
